The importance of giving of ourselves
Student voice and engagement are clearly evident in work of student leaders and community group members. Sacred Heart could not have such a strong sense of community, compassion and dedication to enacting Gospel values without the passion and commitment of the students. Thank you to our 2025 student leaders, community group members and participants - you have raised awareness, raised funds for vulnerable communities, engaged in outreach, enriched faith and made significant improvements to College life.
Sacred Heart students are building a better community and by extension, a better world.
Whilst wearing the badge on the blazer lapel is highly prized, it is the work itself that reaps the benefits. Acts of service and generosity provide our young people with significant social, emotional and spiritual benefits:
- It allows young people the opportunity to put their values, passions and interests into action
- It facilitates the formation of new friendships and deepens existing friendships
- It provides the opportunity to learn new skills and build self-confidence
- It provides challenges in a supportive environment
- It creates those intrinsic, hard to define good feelings - knowing that what you say and do matters and can make a positive difference.
- It develops strong work ethics, communication and collaboration skills
And… it’s fun!
Thank you to the students who have nominated and indicated their willingness to take on 2026 student leadership and community service at Sacred Heart… we eagerly await your ideas and contributions.
Thank you to the students who are busy organising our College Mass and Fair Well Day on 5 December - we are looking forward to wonderful and generous end to the school year.
