Our Term 2 College Assembly last week was a wonderful celebration of student life at Sacred Heart. We were also able to acknowledge the joyful announcement of Pope Leo XIV and offered a prayer that through his words and actions, he will carry forward the mission of the Church, in making the world a better, more compassionate place.
We also took a moment to give thanks for the life and legacy of Pope Francis. Our 2025 College theme ‘Hope in Action’ was inspired by the Year of Jubilee theme Pilgrims of Hope and that one way we can honour his legacy is to truly live out our theme.
Pope Francis once said, “Christian hope is a gift from God that fills our lives with joy.“ Our assembly was a celebration of that hope—the joy we experienced when we recognise how each of us contributes to making Sacred Heart a better place. But also recognising that hope isn’t just found in big moments or major achievements but can be found in the simple yet powerful moments that remind us: good still exists.
I challenged all of us to take one action each day that brings hope to someone else. As if we each do that, our school, community, and world will shine a little brighter.
