House Athletics Carnival

On 18 April we travelled to Lakeside Stadium for our annual House Athletics Carnival.

The day was a huge success with amazing participation across all Houses and Year levels. There were two SHGC Athletics records broken.
Congratulations to Molly (Year 12) on breaking the SHGC High Jump record by 1cm held for 19 years, by clearing 1.52m! Emma (Year 11) broke the 20 year SHGC Triple Jump record, by jumping 9.56m.

The Championship 100m Sprint returned for the second year with Alix (Year 10) defending her title as the fastest student at SHGC.

Congratulations to Paul for taking out the Spirit Award and to Trinity for a strong performance throughout the day and taking out the overall win! It was a tough competition between all four houses and really came down to the wire, making it extra exciting!

The final places were:
1st: Trinity
2nd: Xavier
3rd: Bede
4th: Paul

A huge thank you to Mr Fenton and Miss McCallum for all their efforts in organising the day as well as a huge thank you to all the teachers who measured, timed, raked, started, marshalled and supervised throughout day.

For us Year 12's our final house athletics was definitely a memorable one and we thank everyone involved!
