VCE VM Semester Highlights
It has been a busy and rewarding semester for our VCE Vocational Major students, who have been actively involved in a wide range of projects, excursions and hands-on learning experiences.
Throughout the semester, students participated in numeracy excursions to both Oakleigh and Queen Victoria Markets. These visits provided valuable opportunities to apply mathematical skills in real-world settings.
Students have also explored a variety of future pathway options by visiting a range of university and TAFE providers. These experiences have helped students gain a better understanding of the many opportunities available to them beyond VCE VM and have encouraged them to begin planning for their future careers and further study.
A major highlight of the semester has been the launch of Heart and Brew, our student run cafe for staff. Heart and Brew was an integrated project that brought together learning across multiple VCE VM subjects, allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills in an authentic and meaningful way. From the initial planning stages through to opening day, students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, communication, problem-solving, numeracy, literacy and customer service skills. The cafe has been a fantastic success and has provided students with a valuable opportunity to experience the demands and rewards of running a small business.
We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, commitment and growth shown by our VCE VM students this semester. We look forward to seeing them continue to develop their skills and embrace new opportunities throughout year.
