Year 9 Retreat - A call to Compassion
Last week, our Year 9 students participated in a retreat centred on our 2026 theme: Hearts that Listen – Hands that Act.
We were privileged to welcome Together For Humanity, who facilitated engaging workshops exploring bias, stereotypes, inclusivity and belonging. Through meaningful conversations, personal stories and opportunities for reflection, students were challenged to look beyond assumptions, listen to different perspectives and consider how their words and actions can help create communities where everyone feels valued and respected.
The experience encouraged students to develop empathy, embrace diversity and recognise the importance of fostering a culture of belonging. As they listened to the experiences of others, they gained a deeper understanding of the impact stereotypes can have and the role each of us plays in building a more inclusive society.
Our day ended with Mass celebrated at St Patrick's Cathedral.
As a result, 150 minds were opened. 150 voices were empowered to advocate for a more just and inclusive world.
