Year 12 Graduation Mass
Lighting the Path, Striving Forward with Heart and Hands
On Monday 19 November, the Sacred Heart Girls’ College community gathered for the Year 12 Graduation Mass, a heartfelt celebration of thanksgiving for the Class of 2026 and the significant contribution they have made to our College community.
Guided by the theme “Lighting the Path, Striving Forward with Heart and Hands,” the Mass provided an opportunity to reflect with gratitude on the students’ six years at Sacred Heart — a time of learning, growth, discovery and connection. College life has offered our students rich opportunities to grow academically, pursue their interests and talents, build lasting friendships, develop leadership skills, deepen their spirituality and engage in service to others. Through these experiences, they have been encouraged to discover their strengths, broaden their perspectives and develop a stronger sense of who they are and the difference they can make.
Our Year 12 students have, in turn, made a meaningful contribution to the life of the College. Through their leadership, involvement in social justice initiatives, participation in College activities and, importantly, the everyday acts of kindness, encouragement and care they have shown to others, they have helped shape a community where others can belong, grow and flourish. Their contribution is a valued part of the legacy they leave behind.
Presided over by Father Shane Carr MSC, the Mass invited our graduates to consider the light they will carry into the world beyond Sacred Heart. Father Shane challenged the students to be a light for others, reminding them that our world desperately needs good people who are willing to make a difference and help create a better world.
His message reflected the spirit of our College theme, reminding students that making a difference does not always require grand gestures. It begins with listening, recognising the needs of others and responding with forgiveness, compassion, courage and action.
As we give thanks for the Class of 2026, we celebrate both the opportunities they have embraced and the many ways they have enriched our community. We hope they leave Sacred Heart with a strong sense of purpose, the confidence to pursue their aspirations and a commitment to using their gifts in the service of others.
We congratulate the Class of 2026 and thank them for all they have contributed to Sacred Heart. As they embark on their next chapter, may they continue to light the path for others, striving forward with heart and hands, and make a meaningful difference wherever life leads them.
