A Symphony of Stories

The Research Process and Wide Reading

This term our Year 9 Wide Reading classes have been focusing on the Research Process by applying the rules to a small research project on either a person or place of Melbourne. The students systematically applied their learning from each lesson to create the finished product, and their work is being proudly displayed around a map of Melbourne. It has been a delight seeing members of our school community stopping to look at the work that has been completed. Feedback from the Year 9 students has been very positive with the comment that they will apply the learning to future research assessments.

Our Year 7 and 8 students have been learning about some rules of the Research Process and will be further working with the Process in future Wide Reading classes.

Book Week – Symphony of Stories

The winners have been announced, and the Library is celebrating Book Week with a fortnight of fun activities including matching teacher’s ‘shelfies to the selfie’, guessing the novel in the jar, a quote quest, a puzzle, craft activity and Wide Reading lesson activities. Congratulations to Naomi in Year 7 for winning our bookmark competition. The students have had a great time colouring it in for Book Week. Book Club celebrated Book Week with a fun literature quiz last Friday and last week there were some special guests in the Library to add to all the book celebrations.
