Child safety at school, at home and in the community
Over the next few months, we will highlight services that support child and family safety and wellbeing.
We all want each child and young person to feel safe and be safe; at school, at home and in the community. Sometimes, relationships at home can become strained or parents are worried about the wellbeing of their children and young people.
The Orange Door is a free intake service that provides advice and support for families particularly in relation to parenting, relationships or family violence. The Orange Door is for:
families requiring support for their child or young person’s wellbeing or development
families needing parenting support
young, isolated, or unsupported families
individuals and families experiencing family violence
adults using family violence
young people using violence in the home.
The Orange Door is open from Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. No appointment is needed.
Ideally, a student and/or their family would contact The Orange Door themselves. Schools may refer a family to The Orange Door without the student or family’s consent or knowledge if there is a concern for the student or family’s safety or wellbeing.
