Message from the Principal
The Power of the Arts
I hope many of you had the opportunity to attend our wonderful co-production with Salesian College last week, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Congratulations to all involved. It was a delight to witness the culmination of countless hours of rehearsal, dedication and teamwork, resulting in a performance that entertained and inspired audiences.
While the production itself was outstanding, I was reminded of the deeper value of the Arts when listening to the speeches of our candidates for the 2027 Deputy Captain – Arts. Each candidate spoke about the important role the Arts play in the lives of our students and within our school community.
Their reflections highlighted the Arts as a powerful form of self-expression and a universal language that connects people. They spoke of the confidence gained through performing and creating, the friendships formed through collaboration, and the persistence required to bring an idea to life. They recognised that participation in the Arts develops skills such as teamwork, resilience, creativity and leadership.
Importantly, they spoke about joy, both the joy of creating and the joy of sharing that creativity with others. Together, the production and these thoughtful speeches reinforced a powerful message: the Arts enrich our community, strengthen connections and provide opportunities our students to grow, flourish and inspire those around them.
We now look forward to our next celebration of the Arts, the Annual Music Concert, where our talented musicians will showcase their dedication and passion, and we warmly encourage families to join us for what promises to be another memorable evening.
