Semester 1 Reports and NAPLAN Results
All students should have received their Semester 1 Reports, available at the conclusion of Term 2. This is a wonderful time to sit down with your child and talk through their results, with a particular focus on their work habits. Building strong habits now sets the foundation for success in the senior years, when workload demands increase. We encourage families to celebrate strengths together and to identify, in partnership with teachers through Learning Conversations, any areas for growth to focus on throughout Semester 2.
NAPLAN results were also released to parents and carers of Year 7 and Year 9 students in recent weeks. NAPLAN is just one of many tools our teachers use to understand and support each student's learning. It was pleasing to see a number of our Year 9 students achieve high growth, with notable increases in proficiency levels between their Year 7 and Year 9 results in Reading, Numeracy or both. Congratulations to these students on their fantastic progress.
Subject Selection
Students from Years 9 to 11 have attended information sessions and received their Subject Selection Handbooks recently. These handbooks are also available on PAM for all parents and carers to access. We encourage each student to research and carefully consider their subject choices, discussing options with family and teachers where helpful, before submitting their online preferences by Friday 21 August.
Congratulations to Our Monash Scholars
We are delighted to congratulate the following Year 10 students on their selection into the Monash Scholars Program: Lara, Liliana and Zara.
Monash Scholars is a prestigious program for high-achieving secondary students, offered by Monash University to give students with strong potential a head start into university life. It provides rich opportunities for personal and academic growth, equips students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed study choices, and helps them build valuable networks among peers, academics and industry contacts.
Congratulations, we are very proud of you!
