On Sunday 19 July, Sacred Heart students and staff laced up their running shoes and took part in Run Melbourne in support of ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans).

Blessed with a beautiful sunny morning, participants joined thousands of runners from across Melbourne to raise awareness and funds for an important cause. The clear skies and positive atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a day of challenge, community, and purpose.

Whether tackling the 5km, 10km, or half marathon distances, our runners demonstrated determination, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference. By participating in support of ACRATH, they helped shine a light on the ongoing issue of human trafficking and modern slavery, while contributing to the organisation’s vital work in education, advocacy, and support for those affected by exploitation.

The event was a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to live out the values of compassion, justice, and service that are central to our Sacred Heart community. The encouragement shared among participants and supporters throughout the morning reflected the strong sense of community and generosity that makes our school so special.

We congratulate all who took part and thank the families, friends, and supporters who cheered from the sidelines and contributed through donations. Together, we have made a meaningful contribution to ACRATH’s mission and demonstrated the power of community action in creating positive change.
