Celebrating Year 8
On Wednesday 20 May, we had the privilege of having Sr. Mary McInerny visit us, to talk about Christianity and the RNDM's work, which will help us with our upcoming Religion assessment task. Her words inspired us all, reminding us of how our duty as Christians should effect our everyday actions. She prompted us to remember to always listen with our hearts and act with our hands.
Many Year 8s have also taken part in sports, such as futsal, aerobics, badminton and basketball, where they showed off their skills, learning how to work hard as a team for success, and most importantly having fun.
This month some of our fellow Year 8 students went to music camp, where they practiced playing their instruments and pieces for a finishing concert. This experience guided them to be more confident in their own abilities, and readied them for their upcoming performances.
Meanwhile, our student leaders have been busy this term, with the Social Justice team working hard to create a meaningful Reconciliation Week, and the SRC are preparing to relaunch the popular SRC breakfast, which will hopefully be as big of a hit as it was last year.
Additionally, our Houses have been working tirelessly in preparing the long-awaited House Arts performances in music, dance and film. Many Year 8s are participating and going out of their way to get involved in this fun and memorable event. We can’t wait to watch what they’ve come up with!
The past few weeks of Year 8, have been jam-packed with assessment tasks, last minute revision, sport trials and many fun memories that will be treasured forever.
We look forward to the rest of the term together!
