From Summit Peaks to Sweet Treats
This semester has been an exciting one for the Year 10s. We had our last year level camp, a fundraising cake stall and Morrisby interviewing.
In March, we were put outside our comfort zone at the Year 10 Summit Camp. Each camp was challenging but helped us connect with our friends and peers even more. The Northeast cycle consisted of bike riding from rural town to town among breathtaking scenery of the countryside. The Mount Arapiles rock climbing challenged us to set physical goals and earn the views by climbing to reach them. The Wilsons Promontory journey hiking included a surfing session and bush walks along the scenic coastal track.
In May, the Year 10s supported the RNDM Sisters by organising a cake stall to raise money for their cause. The fundraiser was a great success, raising over $760. Students from all Year 10 homerooms volunteered to either bake or purchase delicious desserts for the stall. The sweet treats included a variety of cupcakes, cakes, cookies, jellies, muffins and slices.
As we prepare for our future ready week, we have recently learnt more about ourselves and our futures during the Morrisby interviews by starting to consider possible pathways and careers with the help from members of the Australian Centre of Career Education.
