Season of Growth & Opportunity
As we move through the middle of Term 2 and the colder weather starts to settle in, the College continues to be full of energy, learning, and activity. It has been wonderful to see students across all year levels embracing the many opportunities on offer both inside and outside the classroom.
Our Year 10 and Year 11 students are now preparing for their upcoming exams. This is an important opportunity for students to consolidate their learning, develop effective study habits and demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have built throughout the semester. Staff are continuing to support students through revision, feedback and encouragement as they approach this busy time.
There have also been many fantastic learning experiences beyond the classroom this term. Congratulations to our College Captains, Agatha Wright and Serena Kozlovski, who were awarded Best Debate Team at the Rotary Model United Nations Assembly and have been invited to Canberra later this year to participate in the national competition — an outstanding achievement.
Year 12 English students recently took part in an engaging Oedipus the King workshop, while our Year 10 and 11 History students visited the Jewish Holocaust Centre, gaining valuable insights into history, empathy and the importance of remembering the past. Year 10 students have also completed their Morrisby Profiling, helping them better understand their strengths, interests and future pathway options.
Our VCE VM students have enjoyed a range of applied learning experiences, including visits to the Road to Zero exhibition at Melbourne Museum and Swinburne University. Year 9 students have continued exploring Melbourne through the STRIVE program, with a focus on Indigenous perspectives through visits to the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre and an Aboriginal walking tour through the city of Melbourne.
Our French students have been participating in the Alliance Française Poetry Competition, while Music students recently attended a three-day camp as they prepare for the Annual Music Concert in Term 3.
It has been fantastic to see students so engaged, curious and willing to get involved in the many opportunities available across the College.
