Students do better on all measurements of wellbeing and school success when families and school work together.
Whilst we want our young people to become more independent, there are some situations that no student can manage on their own, especially when they do not feel as safe as they should be. Whether it be online, at school, at home or in the community; the importance of being informed, having appropriate support and working together cannot be underestimated.
In the interest of keeping families informed, Sacred Heart has a range of resources readily available for you to access:
Policies and procedures that can be accessed via the College website.
Child Safe information that is located in the student planners, and a copy of the planner is accessible via PAM.
Child Safe Commitment statements which are displayed around the College.
SchoolTV subscription that provides information and support to families as you guide your child to develop independence and understanding in keeping themselves safe in a world that is faster and more complex than the one you grew up in (https://shgc.vic.schooltv.me/).
In order to work together successfully for the benefit our young people, we ask that:
You let us know if there is something we can do to create a better Child Safe environment that is culturally inclusive and accessible to every one
Participate in our surveys to give your feedback and insights
Have open and ongoing conversations with your child about safety and who they can turn to if they are feeling unsafe.
