Principal's Message

Welcome to Term 2

The term began with a Professional Learning Day for staff. For our teaching team, this provided a valuable opportunity to collaborate on classroom practices, with a continued focus on improving student learning. A key area of focus was the further development of strategies that support students to recall and review their knowledge—commonly referred to as retrieval practice. These approaches are designed to strengthen students’ long-term memory and deepen their understanding of key concepts across all subject areas.

This year, we will also be participating in the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) School Improvement Review, which takes place every four years. Our afternoon session brought all staff together to explore what this process involves, including the significant preparation required ahead of the review in Term 3.

As this is also the final year of our current Strategic Plan, the session provided an important opportunity to reflect on our progress so far and to begin shaping the goals for the 2026 Annual Action Plans. Further information about these initiatives will be shared with families later in the term.
