CGSAV Badminton

Badminton is a popular sport at Sacred Heart Girl's College with over 20% of the student body nominating to trial for SHGC teams. Last week, 24 of SHGC best badminton players across the junior, intermediate and senior age groups competed in the CGSAV Division 1 Badminton Competition. Badminton is a sport that is self-officiated by the player. The girls represented the college admirably, competing with skill and integrity.

All teams won through to the Semi Finals with the Senior team winning the Division 1 CGSAV Championship Title earning qualification to Badminton Victoria All Schools Championships on 5 September - Congratulations Senior team! Isabel P (Year 12) was named Best in Grand Final.

Most Valuable Players were:

Seniors - Victoria B (Year 11) and Carrel F (Year 10) who due to a late withdrawal on the day played up an age division allowing the seniors play all 4 pairs leading to the title

Intermediates - Luvanya F (Y10) and Thanushi S(Year 10)

Juniors - Risha D (Year 8) and Zarah S (Year 8) who competed up an age group to fill the Inters team

A heartfelt thanks to Mrs Cripps and Ms Di Maria for accompanying me on the event to allow the girls to compete.
