Music Camp 2025 - A Core Memory

Music Camp 2025 was truly unforgettable. Held at the beautiful Edmund Rice Centre ‘Amberley’, we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful staff who treated us to delicious food, including brownies, ice cream, hearty meals and more.

Thursday afternoon was a time to unwind. We spent it rehearsing with our ensembles and enjoying a relaxing movie night featuring Camp Rock. It set the tone for what would be one of the most memorable days of the camp—Friday.

We kicked off Friday with a tasty breakfast followed by an inspiring presentation by Ms Kobayashi, who spoke about body language and stage etiquette. Afterward, each ensemble gathered to rehearse. Some groups began working on new pieces, while others fine-tuned familiar ones. It was amazing to see how much progress was made in such a short time.

One of the highlights of the camp was the “Secret Manito” activity. Before camp began, each of us was given the name of a peer to whom we had to anonymously perform acts of kindness and write encouraging notes. On the final day, we gifted these letters and small surprises. Whether you were someone’s Manito or not, everyone received heartfelt notes and thoughtful gestures that brought lots of smiles.

Thursday night was filled with laughter and fun during our game night. We played trivia, acted out charades and watched an hilarious talent show video competition between year levels. The atmosphere was full of joy and camaraderie.

Friday concluded with each ensemble performing the pieces they had been working so hard on. The performances were met with enthusiastic applause and admiration for how well each group played.

Although it was sad to say goodbye, Music Camp 2025 left us with memories we’ll always treasure—and new friendships that made it all the more special.

We’re already looking forward to next year!
