House Athletics Carnival Highlights

What an incredible day! A huge thank‑you to Ms Di Maria, Ms Gibson, Ms Harvey, and the entire SHGC staff whose hard work kept everything running like clockwork.

Record‑Breaking Performances

• Emma M shattered the Year 12 Triple Jump record with a stunning 11 m leap.

• Giselle Q set a new Year 8 Triple Jump benchmark, soaring 9.78 m.

Spirit Award
Congratulations to BEDE for capturing the coveted Spirit Award—your energy and enthusiasm lit up the carnival!

Well done to every athlete and supporter who made the day unforgettable!

In the field events:

• Bede scored 592 points

• Xavier scored 619 points

• Trinity scored 629 points

• Paul dominated with an impressive 755 points

On the track:

Xavier led the way, followed by Trinity, Paul, and Bede respectively.

Final House Standings:

• 4th Place: Bede – 1499 points

• 3rd Place: Trinity – 1693 points

• 2nd Place: Paul – 1724 points

• 1st Place: Xavier – a massive 2065 points

When the results were announced, a wave of shock and excitement swept through the assembly. Congratulations to Xavier for being crowned the 2025 House Athletics Champions—and well done to Bede for a strong showing as well.

As part of the House Swimming and Athletics Carnivals, special championship races are held for the fastest students from Years 7–12 in the premier 100m events. The top three finishers in each receive a medal, recognising them as the fastest swimmers and athletes in the College.

These prestigious awards were presented at this term’s College Assembly.
