Always striving upwards

Palm Sunday Walk

The week before Easter, students and teachers from Sacred Heart Girl’s College Oakleigh attended the Palm Sunday Walk for Peace and Justice. We joined the community in rallying for one main message: Kindness towards refugees. We heard from people of all different backgrounds, cultures and disciplines about their experiences in being a refugee and fighting for the basic rights of refugees.

In uniting with the wider community, we were able to see the passion and hope of the people all around us in calling for refugees to be treated equally. We hope for today’s society and future generations to make Australia a welcoming place; somewhere that refugees can feel safe and protected.
