Over the past fortnight, nine Sacred Heart French students hosted 11 French exchange students from Notre Dame des Missions, Paris. They explored our wonderful city, rode on Puffing Billy, immersed themselves in classes at our College, and spent a day on Phillip Island. They were very excited to explore the island’s diverse landscape and encounter the many different kinds of native Australian wildlife.
At the Koala Conservation Reserve, we were lucky to spot many furry friends! As we walked through different parts of the island, the French students saw wallabies, echidnas and kangaroos for the first time. "The landscape was beautiful. I had never seen anything like it before in France!” said Sarah, Year 11, from Notre Dame des Missions, Paris.
Later, we visited the Penguin Parade, where we watched the adorable and iconic creatures make their way home. "It was a very unique experience! I loved being able to see penguins up close and spending time with our buddies,” shared Sarah, Year 11, from Notre Dame des Missions, Paris.
We loved sharing our Australian culture and hoped they enjoyed it just as much as we did!
