2025 Sports Recap

Thank you for warmly welcoming me into the Sacred Heart Girls’ College community this year.

It has been a busy year with Sacred Heart Girls College entering 54 teams across 18 different sports in the Catholic Girls Sports Association of Victoria (CGSAV) competitions which involved 594 SHGC competitors. We were most successful, winning titles in the sports of: AFL, Table Tennis, Badminton, Tennis, Soccer, Volleyball and Diving.

There were a further 218 opportunities for students to participate in Junior and Intermediate SEGAP Competitions with all girls enjoying the experience and developing their skills in Basketball, Badminton, Futsal, Netball, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.

56 of our students went on to represent Sacred Heart Girls College at higher levels; with the Senior Aerobics team retaining their National Schoolaerobics title and the Junior Aerobics team taking second place at Nationals. Congratulations to Madeleine D for earning a position of representing CGSAV competing at the Victorian All Schools Swimming competition and the Senior Badminton Team representing CGSAV at the Schools Badminton Victoria tournament. We also had our top Junior and Intermediate Netball teams compete in the Netball Victoria Schools tournament.

I would like to thank all the staff that volunteered their time to select and coach teams to allow all this to happen.

The highlight of my year was having the honour of escorting 10 kind and talented SHGC netballers to Napier, NZ to compete in the annual Mission Cup against the New Zealand Sacred Heart Schools. This was a fabulous experience for all with the girls representing the College admirably.

I look forward to providing even more opportunities for SHGC girls to participate, develop and excel in Sport in 2026.
