Ending the Year with Stories, Community and Christmas Cheer

Last Friday, Book Club gathered to celebrate Christmas and to mark the end of another successful and enjoyable year together. Book Club meets every Day 5, and over time it has become an enthusiastic and welcoming space where students from all year levels can come together to talk all things books.

One of the things that makes our Book Club special is that it is student-led. We have a committed core group of enthusiastic book lovers who bring energy, ideas, and creativity to each meeting. This year, we experienced a change in leadership as our outgoing leaders passed the torch to a keen group of Year 9 students. These new leaders have formed teams of two, each responsible for planning and organising activities. We are excited to see how their leadership develops in the coming year.

Book Club is open to everyone, whether you are an avid reader or someone simply looking to explore new genres and discover new authors. Each meeting offers something different—discussions, games, creative activities, and of course plenty of book talk. As we look ahead, we are excited for another fun-filled year of reading, laughter and shared stories. We can’t wait to welcome even more members and continue building our wonderful reading community.
