Year 10 Students Inspired by the Big Day In
A group of Year 10 students studying Information Technology, recently attended the Big Day In, an exciting technology-focused event that connects secondary students with leaders and innovators from the digital world. The event offered students a unique opportunity to hear from professionals working in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software development and the Australian Defence Force.
Throughout the day, students were exposed to a wide range of career pathways and real-world applications of the technologies they are learning about in class. Engaging keynote presentations and interactive sessions sparked curiosity and highlighted the growing demand for skills in the ever-evolving tech industry.
Our students returned buzzing with new ideas and motivation. For many, the experience broadened their understanding of what future careers in technology might look like and how their own skills and interests could lead to exciting opportunities.
The Big Day In was not only informative but also empowering, showing students that the future of tech is bright and within reach.

Learning leader – Technologies
Our IT class went to the Big Day In at RMIT, where we listened to various presentations relating to Cybersecurity, producing animations and Artificial Intelligence. It was amazing to listen to the variety of companies and all the different jobs in IT.
The presenters were from companies such as the Australian Defence Force, Adobe, WiseTech Global, Westpac and many others. I really enjoyed getting to personally talk to the RMIT and Adobe staff at the expo, as I found them interesting. The day was filled with activities, programs, getting to meet new people and much fun.
Overall, I loved the Big Day In and hopefully I will get to go again!
