Year 11 Health and Physical Education
The Real Care Baby program offers students an authentic insight into the responsibilities of caring for an infant. Using interactive baby simulators that require feeding, changing, burping and comforting around the clock, students gain a deeper appreciation of the challenges of parenting.
The program also fosters key skills in responsibility, time management and problem-solving. Our Year 11 Health and Human Development students are currently participating in this valuable hands-on learning experience.
Please see below a reflection from Maddison K:
Looking after the Real Care Baby was a valuable and rewarding experience. I enjoyed learning how to respond to its needs, which gave me a better understanding of the responsibilities that come with caring for a child.
I developed skills such as patience, organisation and problem-solving, and I was surprised by how quickly I adapted to the routine.
I now feel more confident in my ability to face the challenges of parenting, and I appreciate the insight this experience has given me.
